Following different blogs is a real pain as you have to go through 4 or more blogs which are especially interesting for you.
So I built myself a blog follower which shows me the articles from the last month for several property blogs where I can easily jump straight to the right article.

To extend or not to extend, that is the question
Hi all, long time lurker here, hoping for your 2cents worth.
I own and live in a 70m2 2 bedroom house on a cross lease section (half of 940m2) in Konini, West Auckland. I've been contemplating adding another double bedroom and extending the lounge, all up adding 20m2.
I just want to know if...

It's not an estate where there's a ton of land and a sweeping driveway around a large tree,...

Reframing Ratchet Clauses in Lease Agreements
Ratchet clauses in commercial property leases are something tenants love to hate. That's not surprising because the implication is that with a ratchet clause, rents always go up at the time of a rent review. The ratchet clause in a lease is often that; a set in concrete element of the lease that means landlords can and will automatically ratchet up a rental when it is time for the lease to be reviewed. Just this week I was told by a tenant that the landlord was trying to...
